HMG 75 IU - human menopausal gonadotropin, supplying both FSH and LH activity for reproductive endocrinology research.
Research Use Only:This compound is intended exclusively for in vitro laboratory research applications. Not for human or veterinary consumption.
HMG research overview
Human menopausal gonadotropin is a preparation carrying both follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone activity, standardised at 75 IU of each per vial. It is purified from urinary sources rather than produced recombinantly, which is why it arrives as a dual-activity preparation rather than a single isolated hormone.
That dual activity is the reason to use it. Gonadal steroidogenesis and follicular development are governed by two receptors acting together: FSH receptor on granulosa and Sertoli cells, and LHCGR on theca and Leydig cells. A model driving only one of them describes half the system. HMG lets a preparation engage both at a fixed ratio, which is standard in follicular development research, granulosa-theca co-culture work and studies of the two-cell two-gonadotropin model of estrogen synthesis.
Savage Labs also stocks hCG at 5,000 and 10,000 IU, which supplies LHCGR agonism alone. Running HMG against hCG isolates the FSH contribution, and that comparison is a common study design. Because HMG is a urinary-derived preparation, batch-to-batch composition documentation matters more than for a single recombinant hormone - request the analytical record for the specific lot. Store refrigerated at 2-8 degrees Celsius. For in vitro laboratory research only.

Questions about this listing
- What form does HMG come in?
Lyophilized Powder The size options listed on this page — 75 IU — are what is available, and the vial labelling shown in the product images above is the reference for what a vial contains.
- How should HMG be stored?
Refrigerate at 2-8°C. Storage requirements differ across the catalog — some listings are refrigerated, others held at -20°C, others at room temperature — so read this row rather than assuming from a neighbouring product.
- Does Savage Labs supply a diluent for HMG?
Bacteriostatic water is stocked separately in 3mL and 10mL vials. Savage Labs does not specify a reconstitution volume, a working concentration, or a basis for calculating either — those are determined by the protocol the material is used in, not by this catalog.
- What does the 99% figure on this listing mean?
It is the purity reported for this material. It is a reported value rather than one Savage Labs has independently verified for the lot you receive, and it does not describe net peptide content. How peptide purity is reported and net peptide content cover what the number does and does not tell you.
- What documentation is available for HMG?
Batch-specific certificates of analysis and test methods on request. Confirm that any report matches the lot you intend to order — reading a peptide certificate of analysis covers which field answers which question. Ask about documentation for this listing, or see the full FAQ for ordering, shipping and returns.
- What else is grouped with HMG?
It is catalogued under PCT & Support, where the category page describes what separates the compounds in the group.
Ordering, payment, shipping and returns are answered on the full FAQ.
