hCG 5,000 IU - human chorionic gonadotropin, a glycoprotein hormone studied for LHCGR binding and steroidogenic signaling.
Research Use Only:This compound is intended exclusively for in vitro laboratory research applications. Not for human or veterinary consumption.
HCG-5000iu research overview
Human chorionic gonadotropin is a heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone. Its alpha subunit is shared with LH, FSH and TSH; its beta subunit is unique and carries a C-terminal peptide extension that the others lack, and that extension is why hCG has a much longer circulating half-life than luteinizing hormone despite binding the same receptor.
That combination - same receptor, longer duration - is what makes it a research tool. hCG binds the luteinizing hormone/choriogonadotropin receptor, a class A GPCR signaling through Gs and cyclic AMP, and downstream through steroidogenic acute regulatory protein to the steroid synthesis pathway. Laboratory work uses it as a sustained LHCGR agonist in Leydig and granulosa cell preparations, in steroidogenesis assays, and in receptor binding and desensitisation studies. Its heavy glycosylation also makes it a standard subject in glycoprotein hormone assay development.
This is the 5,000 IU vial. A 10,000 IU vial is stocked for protocols consuming more material - identity is the same and only the unit content differs, so compare cost per IU rather than per vial. HMG, which supplies both FSH and LH activity, is stocked separately for designs needing the follicle-stimulating arm as well. Store refrigerated at 2-8 degrees Celsius. For in vitro laboratory research only.

Questions about this listing
- What form does HCG-5000iu come in?
Lyophilized Powder The size options listed on this page — 5000 IU — are what is available, and the vial labelling shown in the product images above is the reference for what a vial contains.
- How should HCG-5000iu be stored?
Refrigerate at 2-8°C. Storage requirements differ across the catalog — some listings are refrigerated, others held at -20°C, others at room temperature — so read this row rather than assuming from a neighbouring product.
- Does Savage Labs supply a diluent for HCG-5000iu?
Bacteriostatic water is stocked separately in 3mL and 10mL vials. Savage Labs does not specify a reconstitution volume, a working concentration, or a basis for calculating either — those are determined by the protocol the material is used in, not by this catalog.
- Is HCG-5000iu available in another size or format?
10,000 IU vial. Compare the vial labelling in the product images on each listing before treating any two as interchangeable.
- What does the 99% figure on this listing mean?
It is the purity reported for this material. It is a reported value rather than one Savage Labs has independently verified for the lot you receive, and it does not describe net peptide content. How peptide purity is reported and net peptide content cover what the number does and does not tell you.
- What documentation is available for HCG-5000iu?
Batch-specific certificates of analysis and test methods on request. Confirm that any report matches the lot you intend to order — reading a peptide certificate of analysis covers which field answers which question. Ask about documentation for this listing, or see the full FAQ for ordering, shipping and returns.
- What else is grouped with HCG-5000iu?
It is catalogued under PCT & Support, where the category page describes what separates the compounds in the group.
Ordering, payment, shipping and returns are answered on the full FAQ.
